POSITION SUMMARY

Peoplease is looking for a qualified Unemployment Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing unemployment claims on behalf of our clients, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. A major aspect of this role involves successfully gathering vital information from clients to protest and appeal unemployment claims successfully and on time.

An ideal candidate will have the ability to manage and execute the coordination of multiple projects within required timeframes and expectations; demonstrated excellence in communication skills; be able to inform both orally and in writing; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrate the ability to perform detail-oriented tasks; interact, coordinate, follow up, and effectively communicate with cross functional regional team members, senior management, and third-party administrators, vendors as needed.

Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to function as a remote employee in a distributed work team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Filing appeals on claims that are granted unemployment benefits when the separation reason involves misconduct
  • Proactively request documentation needed from clients for proper filing and contesting of claims.
  • Completing verifications of employment and income for client employees as needed
  • Preparing and attending unemployment hearings as a client representative (via telephone conference)
  • Completing Benefit Audit forms
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records on the unemployment spreadsheet for claims and decisions
  • Compiling monthly reports for management and any other requested client reports as needed
  • Other duties and projects assigned within the scope of the role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience processing Unemployment Claims and/or HR services experience
  • HRLogics & PrismHR experience highly preferred
  • PEO experience preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Responsive and self-motivated team player

  • Strong Time Management and Organizational Skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The role requires regular communication and occasional travel to support the distributed workforce. The role will primarily function indoors but may involve working in varying temperatures or outdoor environments as needed.
