POSITION SUMMARY

The Jr. Regional Risk Mitigation Specialist supports Peoplease clients in improving workplace safety and reducing Workers’ Compensation risks through customer service, safety education, worksite observations, and risk management support. 

Working closely with Risk Mitigation team members, this position assists with client visits, risk reviews, training activities, and follow-up on safety recommendations. The role provides an excellent opportunity to build knowledge in Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, risk management, and client consulting while developing strong professional relationships. 

This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in safety, insurance, risk management, or occupational health who enjoys working with people, solving problems. This a remote position, regional territory coverage based upon candidate's residence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with onsite and virtual client visits to review workplace Risk Management practices. 
  • Conduct client meetings and risk assessments. 
  • Review Workers’ Compensation loss information to identify and strategize an action plan based on injury trends. 
  • Prepare internal and external Risk reports and client documentation. 
  • Conduct virtual or in-person worksite observation reports and identify potential Risk mitigation needs. 
  • Provide clients with resources, educational materials, and best practice guides. 
  • Present Risk Management action plans, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions. 
  • Follow up with clients regarding recommended Risk Management improvements and action items. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and activities. 
  • Build positive working relationships with clients through professional communication and responsive customer service. 
  • Collaborate with Claims, Client Services, Sales, and other internal departments. 
  • Stay informed of current Risk Management trends and best practices. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Business, Human Resources, Insurance, or related field and/or 2 years equivalent experience in Risk Mitigation required
  • Internship or experience in Risk Management, customer service, insurance, HR, staffing, operations, manufacturing, construction, transportation, or a related field is a plus. 
  • Previous PEO experience is helpful but not required. 
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities including the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. 
  • Basic understanding of workplace Risk Management principles or willingness to learn. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). 
  • Comfortable presenting information to clients. 
  • Ability to work independently after training while remaining part of a collaborative team. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills. 
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory (roughly 5% of the time). 
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

The role requires regular communication and may require occasional travel to support the distributed workforce. The role will primarily function indoors but may involve working in varying temperatures or outdoor environments as needed.
