Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes at Peoplease. This individual will provide key insights into our business performance, assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and work closely with senior leadership to make data-driven decisions that align with our strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a remote work environment and can manage responsibilities independently while maintaining communication and collaboration with the broader team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct variance analysis to explain deviations from forecast and historical trends.
- Provide in-depth analysis on key financial metrics and trends, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Assist in the preparation of board-level financial reports and presentations.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to gather inputs and develop accurate financial forecasts.
- Monitor performance against the budget and provide proactive recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Assist in rolling forecasts, updating financial projections, and adjusting plans based on changes in the business environment.
Strategic Analysis & Business Insights:
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI analysis, and profitability analysis for new initiatives or product lines.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate business opportunities and assist in the development of business cases for new projects.
Data Integrity & Process Improvement:
- Maintain the integrity of financial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate accounting policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with senior leadership, including the CFO, to provide financial support and recommendations.
- Serve as a key resource for financial analysis across departments, ensuring that financial considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Collaborate with other finance team members to improve reporting and analysis efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead financial analyst role.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial analysis tools, and ERP/financial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote work environment and manage deadlines without direct supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Preferred:
- CPA, CFA, or MBA
- Experience in a PEO, HR outsourcing, or a service-based industry is highly preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role requires regular communication and may require occasional travel to support the distributed workforce. The role will primarily function indoors but may involve working in varying temperatures or outdoor environments as needed.
